As Beyoncé celebrates her first Mother’s Day with daughter Blue Ivy Carter, she honors the woman who helped make her who she is today. The superstar singer has written an open letter to her mama Tina Knowles on her website, thanking her for being a positive role model and for all the sacrifices she made along the way.

After wowing at the Met Gala, Beyoncé stepped out for the second night in a row to the launch of Erica Reid’s book The Thriving Child hosted by her husband L.A. Reid. But this time, she had her mother Tina Knowles and husband Jay-Z by her side. Jay affectionately pinched his wife’s cheeks, while they mingled with guests including Mary J. Blige and Karmin.

The couple’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter was safe and sound back home. “She’s four months old today, and she’s just got the most delicious little cheeks,” said B, who has been rehearsing for her upcoming shows at Revel in Atlantic City.

Beyoncé took the night off from Mom duties to attend the glamorous Met Gala in New York on Monday. “Entertainment Tonight’s” Nancy O’Dell snagged the only red carpet interview with the superstar, who wowed in a Givenchy Haute Couture gown.

PEOPLE magazine’s ‘World’s Most Beautiful Woman’ was beaming as she spoke of her four-month-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter, who was back home with Jay-Z and grandmother Tina Knowles. “I have such a full life,” she gushed. “I feel like now I know the reason that I was born.”

She wants to add more members to her family, but it probably won’t happen anytime soon. “Of course. “I definitely want to have more,” she said. “I don’t know how many. God knows; I don’t know yet.”

If you’re wondering how she got back in shape so quickly, it’s no fluke. “I’ve been working really hard,” said B, who’s been spending time with a trainer. “There are no secrets—discipline.”

Beyoncé will return to the stage for the first time in nearly a year with a series of shows at the $2.4 billion Revel resort over Memorial Day weekend. A fourth show was recently added for Monday, May 28.

Beyoncé is surely showing more interest in connecting with her fans and showing her personality. The megastar took out the time to personally thank and congratulate the winner of her “End of Time” remix contest through skype. The contest, which was launched in early February, and open to 25 countries, received over 3,000 entrants.

The winner, a producer named Jimek of Poland, will take home $4,000 USD and will have his remix appear on 4: The Remix. The EP, available digitally on April 24. Check out the emotional exchange now.

Beyonce has been spotted numerous times lately with Baby Blue in tow, strapped to her Mommas chest mostly, but today the megastar was caught by the paps solo, heading into a NYC office building. B was looking very springy as she donned an electric pink long-sleeve top, and bright colorful, multi-patterned, tropical dress. The new mom has been looking amazing lately, the body is back, and she has surely been getting back in shape for her return to the stage on Memorial Day weekend in Atlantic City at Revel Resort.
