Beyonce is always referred to as B, and her Halloween costume last year was fitting of the nickname. In ironic news its appears the superstar and her famous Destiny’s Child song “Bootylicious” have influenced the title of a rare Australian fly. According to the Huffington Post… “A newly discovered horse fly in Australia was so “bootylicious” with its golden-haired bum, there was only one name worthy of its beauty: Beyonce.

Previously published results from Bryan Lessard, a 24-year-old researcher at Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization, were recently announced on the species that had been sitting in a fly collection since it was captured in 1981 – the same year pop diva Beyonce was born.

He says he wanted to pay respect to the insect’s beauty by naming it Scaptia (Plinthina) beyonceae. Lessard said Beyonce would be “in the nature history books forever” and that the fly now bearing her name is “pretty bootylicious” with its golden backside.”

The Saturday night baby, Blue Ivy Carter (B.I.C), has already recorded with her rap mogul father, Jay-Z, danced for Beyonce, and become an instant trending topic on Twitter. Celebrities and fans are sending nonstop love and congrats to the new parents and baby and who’s Oprah to fall anything less of that. She’s giving a trunk of children books to Jay-Z and Beyonce’s bundle of joy. Might sound like an odd gift for a newborn, but since Oprah has been a spokesperson and philanthropist towards education, it’s right up her alley. Who knows? Maybe Baby Blue will launch the baby edition of Oprah’s book club! Nevertheless, Blue Ivy has a bright future ahead; congrats to the Carter family.

The entertainment media has been consumed by the arrival of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s daughter. During a sit-down with A.J. Hammer on HLN’s “Showbiz Tonight,” even Brandy was filled with excitement for the new parents. The new star of BET’s “The Game” shared her thoughts on the newborn’s name, Jay-Z’s emotional song, and offered advice to her fellow mom.

On the baby’s name, Blue Ivy Carter: “I think the name is gorgeous. It totally fits. I love it and I’m so happy for Beyoncé and Jay. They’re actually one of my favorite couples and both inspirations.”

On “Glory,” the song Jay recorded for his new daughter: “It’s a great song and to hear little Blue at the end, it was sooo beautiful, breathtaking actually.”

On her advice to Beyoncé: “I just think she needs to appreciate her baby right now and not worry about [losing the pregnancy weight]. Just enjoy it. … This is her first child. I would take the time and just be with my family and be with my newborn and chill out. That’s what I would do. But you know B, she’s a workaholic and she loves what she does. You have to respect her for that.”

The internet hasn’t rested since the news that Beyonce gave birth to a baby girl on Saturday night (January 7). Reports, speculation and rumors have been swirling around, but the power couple have now released an official statement, and cleared up any rumors about the birth and their daughters name.  According to the stars they are just “in heaven” right now.

We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 7, 2012.

Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven.

She was delivered naturally at a healthy 7 lbs and it was the best experience of both of our lives.

It’s official!! They are 3 from that 2. Beyoncé and Jay-Z are the proud parents of a baby girl! The famous couple welcomed a daughter on Saturday night in New York City, according to multiple sources.

The baby was born via scheduled C-section. There are slightly varying reports on what they named her. E! News claims that Jay-Z is telling friends that his newborn’s name is Blue Ivy Carter, while TMZ reported it as Ivy Blue Carter.

Their pal Rihanna was among the first to congratulate the new parents. “Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih,” she tweeted.

B’s sister Solange tweeted, “The most beautiful girl in the world.”

According to the NY Daily News, Beyoncé, checked into Lenox Hill Hospital on New York’s Upper East Side on Friday night under the alias Ingrid Jackson. The couple reportedly rented out the entire fourth floor of the hospital for $1.3 million.

Beyoncé first announced her pregnancy in late August at the MTV Video Music Awards.  In a previous interview on “20/20,” Beyoncé shared her excitement about becoming a mother. “The best thing is knowing that my favorite person in the world I haven’t met them yet, and hopefully I’m gonna pass on things that generations of my family have passed on to me,” she told Katie Couric.

Beyoncé left her stamp on 2011 with the release of her fourth solo album 4, headlining performance at Glastonbury, and pregnancy announcement. The superstar shared one of her performances from London, which was filmed earlier in the year, during “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” special.

Team Beyonce is counting down the 10 best moments of “4″ and her 2011. The 8th moment is B’s epic cover performance of Prince’s “The Beautiful Ones,” and Arcade Fire’s “Sex On Fire” at the Glastonbury Festival. Beyoncé sat down with Katie Couric to talk about the loves of her life—her music and her baby. Returning to Roseland Ballroom where she filmed her concert DVD Live at Roseland: Elements of 4, the beaming mom-to-be discussed all things baby, the wild rumors surrounding her pregnancy, and taking some time off before shooting A Star Is Born with Clint Eastwood. She also took Couric on a tour of her production studio The Parkwood Group where she edits her video footage.

The pop megastar laughed off rumors that she is faking her pregnancy. “There are certain things that are so far that it doesn’t even upset you,” said a calm B. “I’m cool. It’s so ridiculous and over the top.” But her mother Tina Knowles didn’t have the same reaction. “She’s like, ‘Nobody’s talking about my grandbaby. My grandbaby’s not even here yet.’”

The parents-to-be can’t wait to welcome their first child. “I’m so anxious. I wanna hold the baby,” said Mrs. Carter, adding that “the time can’t come fast enough” for Jay-Z.
