It’s all about the simple things…
Months after the song was released on the soundtrack to the latest season of HBO’s hit show ‘Girls,’ Miguel releases an official video for his electric guitar based track “Simplethings.”
The R&B maverick is seen walking through the streets of Los Angeles searching for his she-wolf, while the visual switches between scenes of a pair of wolves symbolizing the lovers, find one another, and have a blissful moment on the beach.
Miguel is currently working on the much-anticipated follow-up to 2012’s Kaleidoscope Dreams, he was recently in the studio with DJ Premier.

Dressing up in their absolute best, stars from every aspect of the industry showed up to the Met Gala 2014. Held on Monday night at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, everyone who was just about anyone was in attendance looking very dapper.
Going with the dress code of “white tie,” this year’s event was inspired by British fashion designer Charles James – “America’s First Couturier”.
Taking a totally different lane of fashion than her choice at this year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards, Rihanna was glowingly amazing in her white two-piece Stella McCartney ensemble. Sporting Givenchy while “on the run” were powerhouse couple Beyoncé and Jay Z, while crooner Frank Ocean was dapper in a white tuxedo.
Solange, who opted to dress in color, was seen in a 3.1 Phillip Lim dress, and Janelle Monae looked stately in Tadashi Shoji.

Good Lord, Miguel does it again! For his third release of the year, the R&B maverick has collaborated with the legendary Carlos Santana on a song off the rock icon’s forthcoming new album CORAZÓN. Following his amazing remake of Elton John’s “Bennie and The Jets,” the singer delivers a shining new ballad over sweet Santana guitars.
The song entitled “Indy” finds Miguel praying to the heavenly father over the lady of his provocative dreams.
“I would love to lay ya, way up in the Himalaya’s, yea / No need to be modest babe, you appear to be a goddess babe / Sweet unholy thoughts of you,” Miguel softly sings.
Wheww this joint is nasty and oh so heavenly! While the song is in English, Santana’s new album will be his first ever Latin music album and feature collaborations with some of the biggest Latino stars in the world. It will hit stores on May 6.

Miguel paid a visit to his hometown radio station Power 106 this week for a chat with J Cruz and Justin Credible. The R&B maverick held nothing back as he spoke about working with Beyoncé, and writing the song “Rocket.”
“She had just had her baby, she was in sweats, just looking amazing,” said Miguel of their recording session. Continuing, “I was trying to write a song that was celebrating her sexuality and her confidence in her sexuality, which was kind of explicit for what we’ve heard from Bey.”
Miguel shared his views of Kendrick Lamar not taking home any Grammy Awards, saying that he definitely deserved to win Best Rap Album, but just getting there is a huge accomplishment and Kendrick will be around for a very long time.
He also mentioned that only Pharrell could pull off his now infamous hat, and revealed how his girlfriend Nazanin Mandi coaches him on Instagram posts and gives his selfie rules.
Additionally, Miguel played the famous game of ‘F, Marry, Kill;’ with Nicki Minaj, Kelly Rowland, Jhené Aiko. Before leaving he treated listeners to a live rendition of his hit single “How Many Drinks.”

If you didn’t already know, Miguel wrote Beyoncé’s sexual new song “Rocket,” from her self-titled fifth album. Recently speaking with Vibe, the R&B singer/songwriter says he was challenged by Mrs. Carter to push the envelope with some of her most risqué lyrics yet.
“I’ll never forget the conversation I had with Beyoncé and her insisting that nothing was off-limits,” Miguel says. “And me being like, ‘Oh yeah, you sure? Because I can really take it there.'”
And take it there he did. Once Miguel got the OK from Yoncé, he came up with the song’s definitive opening line: “Let me sit this ass… on you.”
“What’s the first thing I’d want Beyoncé to say to me, as a man? What have I not heard her say?” Miguel recalls thinking. “That’s where the song came from. And essentially it’s what all of us would want Beyoncé to say to us—no disrespect, obviously, to Jay.”
“She’s confident and [“Rocket”] showcases that part of her that we haven’t seen—her confidence and her sexuality—which can be liberating to a certain degree,” says Miguel, who is working on his third album. “I hope that’s why she loves the record—that’s why I love the record.”
